David: Any frequency can be used, even a BBC2 frequency, to help the box boot up, just as long as you know you are receiving that frequency at the time. No matter what frequency you use, the data downloads at the same speed.
You only need to change the DT from 11778 if you are unable to receive this frequency - in Spain it tends to be weakest around 5pm.
And it is normal for the box to get back to 11778 - it should and will do if it gets a slight sniff of 11778 being available - as that is where the 7 data Sky EPG data sits, and the backgound music that plays whenever you go into the sky menu system,

According to www.satandpcguy.com Sky boxes will always revert to 11.778, but 12.129 is useful when initial setting or rebooting as it downloads the prgram guide quicker in Spain.

http://www.satandpcguy.com/Site/sky_satellite_default_transponder_frequency_settings_costa_blanca_spain.php

I found this site which explains a lot about the need to change the frequencies...and that you need to do Service 0 0 1 Select onthe new menu system.

What is the receiver (Skybox) default frequency used for?
In any case it seems to revert to 11.778 even whed 12.129 is entered correctly, I hope.
What am I doing wrong?
