The BBC Red Button streams are set to return this summer.
Normally the BCB only runs a single “Red Button” channels on satellite TV.
However, as is now becoming the norm, they are expanding this service with a few more Red Button channels, including one in HD.
This is to help show greater coverage of sports and events during the summer months, including Euro 2016, Wimbledon, Olympics and Galstonbury.
But viewers in the UK with a “connected tv”, will be offered more streams via their BBC Connected TV service and “app”. 15 streams are to be made available during Wimbledon and 24 streams are expected during the Olympics.
In addition, during the Olympics period, BBC Four will be converted to an Olympic sports channel this August, with the BBC planning to show up to 15 hours of coverage a day on the channel
So, given the BBC has recently lost a load of sporting rights (F1, Live Open Golf), they can still provide great coverage of some of the other sports and events.
These additional “Red Button” streams are available on the following satellite frequency:
Symbol Rate: 27500
Mode: DVB-S QPSK
